Galway City Council presented Eyes on the Horizon a programme of outdoor performances and happenings in October 2021 under the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme funded by The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media. The funding was aimed at supporting local artists, performers, musicians and facilitate outdoor live performances in public spaces.

The coronavirus pandemic disrupted everyday life and cultural expressions around the nation and across the world and this programme aimed to provide the people of Galway with the opportunity to experience great art and culture on their doorstep. 

During the month of October, public spaces across the Galway city were animated with an exciting programme of performances by Galway based musicians, artists and performers.  From October 3 to 17: Sunday trad sessions at The Small Crane, Music at The Bandstand, a series of Happenings across the city,  Storytelling at Galway City Museum & Westside Library to two days of live music at the Commercial Boat Club, Woodquay.
